An oversized early antique hooked rug of a large lion with palms and floral decor. This shirred wool hooked rug depicting a lion in a landscape was made around the 1880s and the design reflects elements of the ES Frost Pattern Lions with Palms. The rug still maintains good coloring and has been stitched to a fabric and applied to a foam board panels and is light enough to hang.

Condition Notes: The rug has been applied to a frame board panel and has been stitched onto fabric and is light enough to hang. The edges have been stitched where it was fraying (see photos), some stitching missing to expose bits of canvas. This is a wonderful piece of Folk Art and makes for a fantastic statement in a room.
