A small 17th/18th century continental gilt carved hexagonal frame with an extremely early 17th or 18th century needlework of two lions flanking a tree with a blue silk background and with gilt embroidery. It has two birds with two sets of grapes above and one below and with vines and acanthus leaf designs throughout.
The frame is extremely three dimensional and in high relief and is in great condition considering its age. It has areas of chipping, cracks, and small loses. The needlework is in good condition with a few small holes.
